At the 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards held on Nov. 25 in downtown Seoul, Park Bo Young made a slip by calling Lee Min Ho oppa, a Korean appellation used by females toward an older male friend.
At the Awards, Park and Lee appeared on stage to award New Director Prize. Lee threw bouquets at Park by saying, “I haven’t seen her in a long time. She seems to be a real woman now.” In response to the compliment, Park shyly said, “Oppa! You as well look far more handsome.”
Oppa is not a proper word to be used at such an official event as the Awards. Immediately recognizing her mistake, Park corrected the appellation into Mr. Lee, which evoked big laughs among the audience.
At the Awards, Best Actor is granted Park Hae Il who played in Arrow, the Ultimate Weapon, while Best Actress Kim Ha Neul of Blind.
